De Gaston Apps, LLC. (“we” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy adapts our existing application privacy policy for the Simple Tuners website at simpletuners.com. It describes the information handled by this web tuner. Our mobile applications may have different features and data practices.
Microphone access and audio
We request microphone access only when you select “Start microphone” and your browser grants permission. Your microphone audio is processed temporarily in your browser to detect pitch. Audio is never uploaded to our servers, saved as a recording, stored remotely, or shared with third parties. Select “Stop microphone” to release the microphone. Leaving the page also stops the tuner. You can revoke permission in your browser’s site settings.
Information collected by this website
The tuner does not include analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, user accounts, or crash reporting services. It does not use cookies, local storage, or advertising identifiers. Instrument choices and calibration settings remain in page memory and reset when you reload.
When you load the website, its hosting provider necessarily receives connection information, such as your IP address, browser request information, and requested files. The provider may keep access or security logs according to its own configuration and policies. Microphone audio is not included in these requests.
Use and sharing of information
Microphone input is used only to provide the tuner you requested. Connection information may be used to deliver the website, maintain availability, and protect against abuse. We do not sell your personal information or share audio with advertisers. Hosting providers may process connection information to deliver the service; information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.
Data retention and security
Audio is processed ephemerally and is not retained. The tuner does not retain pitch history after the session. Hosting log retention depends on the hosting service and deployment configuration. We use browser permission controls and local processing to limit access to your microphone. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
Third-party services
This web tuner loads its application code and pitch detector from the website itself. It does not integrate the mobile application services described in our earlier policy, such as Google Play Services, Firebase Crashlytics, Apple services, or advertising networks. Our hosting provider may process information needed to serve the website. If you follow an external link, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Children’s privacy
The website is not specifically directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can decline or revoke microphone permission and stop using the tuner at any time. Depending on your location and applicable law, including the GDPR for people in the European Economic Area, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. Since the tuner does not record your audio or create an account, we do not hold those records to retrieve or delete.
International processing
Your audio stays on your device. Website connection information may be processed by hosting infrastructure in countries other than your own. Where applicable, transfers of personal information must be handled in accordance with relevant data protection requirements.
