Flute tuning notes
The flute preset provides A4 and A5 reference targets. It is a reference-note check rather than a full flute fingering chart.
| Target | Note | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | A4 | 440.00 Hz |
| 2 | A5 | 880.00 Hz |
Targets are listed in preset order. Frequencies above use A4 = 440 Hz; changing Reference A4 adjusts the live tuner targets.
How to tune your flute
Warm up your flute before checking pitch. Play a sustained note with normal breath support and posture. Adjust the headjoint gradually and recheck pitch without changing your embouchure to chase the display.
Can I check every note on my flute?
Yes. Choose Chromatic to see the nearest concert-pitch note across the instrument’s range. The flute preset is limited to the two A reference notes.
What do flat, sharp, and cents mean?
Flat means your pitch is below the target; sharp means it is above it. A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. Move toward 0 cents using small adjustments. For strings, tighten to raise pitch and loosen to lower it.
Can I change the reference pitch?
Reference A4 defaults to 440 Hz and accepts 400–480 Hz. Match your ensemble’s reference before tuning. The selected preset keeps its note names while its target frequencies adjust.
