Ukulele tuning notes
The ukulele preset uses re-entrant high-G tuning: G4, C4, E4, A4. The G string is higher in pitch than the C string.
| Target | Note | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | G4 | 392.00 Hz |
| 2 | C4 | 261.63 Hz |
| 3 | E4 | 329.63 Hz |
| 4 | A4 | 440.00 Hz |
Targets are listed in preset order. Frequencies above use A4 = 440 Hz; changing Reference A4 adjusts the live tuner targets.
How to tune your ukulele
Pluck each open string separately and mute the others. Use the string buttons to check G, C, E, and A individually, especially if Auto follows a ringing string.
Does this ukulele tuner support low-G or baritone tuning?
Use Chromatic for low-G tuning (G3, C4, E4, A4) or standard baritone tuning (D3, G3, B3, E4). The ukulele preset itself is for high-G tuning.
What do flat, sharp, and cents mean?
Flat means your pitch is below the target; sharp means it is above it. A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. Move toward 0 cents using small adjustments. For strings, tighten to raise pitch and loosen to lower it.
Can I change the reference pitch?
Reference A4 defaults to 440 Hz and accepts 400–480 Hz. Match your ensemble’s reference before tuning. The selected preset keeps its note names while its target frequencies adjust.
